Xiaomi 13 Ultra to Debut this Month in China, Global Launch Soon

Xiaomi confirmed today that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will launch in China this month. It will arrive as the successor to the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which debuted in the home market last year. While the 12S Ultra did not launch outside of China, the successor edition will release in the global market.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be an ultimate flagship phone, which will be positioned above the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The premium flagship phone promises to offer unmatched photography and videography experience thanks to Xiaomi’s collaboration with Leica. Xiaomi is yet to confirm the key features of the device. Some reports have claimed that the 13 Ultra may debut as early as April 11 in China.

According to tipster Kacper Skrzypek, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will not release in some markets, such as India, Indonesia, Japan, and Turkey. The reason behind it is that there is no word on the existence of the MIUI firmware builds for these markets. However, the device will be heading to markets like China, Taiwan, Europe, and Russia.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will utilize the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED QHD+ LTPO screen that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. It will boot to the Android 13 OS, which will have the MIUI 14 skin on top.

It will be equipped with four rear cameras featuring wide, ultra-wide, telephoto, and periscope lenses, all with a 50-megapixel resolution. It also comes with a front-facing camera with a 32MP resolution. The primary camera sensor is a 1-inch Sony IMX989, and the remaining three are Sony IMX858. Additionally, the phone will have up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. It will support both 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
