Recently, well-known Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station claimed that a photography-focused flagship phone would debut by the end of February. Even Xiaomi Groupe President and Partner Lu Weibing hinted that he would soon switch to a new phone with strong photography capabilities. While they did not specify the device’s name, it seems that they are talking about the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Another leaker has now shared the tentative launch timeframe of the device.
According to the tipster, Xiaomi 14 Ultra will likely be unveiled by the end of February. As it is known, the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 is scheduled to take place in Barcelona, Spain, around the same time in February. Xiaomi may likely showcase the device at the tech exhibition.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra will have a Leica Summilux lens backed by a 50-megapixel LYT-900 camera sensor. As per the leaks, the main camera will offer a variable aperture of f/1.63 and f/4.0. Other reports have claimed that its camera setup will have three additional 50-megapixel cameras for ultra-wide, telephoto, and periscope telephoto shots.
The 14 Ultra will come with a curved-edge OLED panel on the front. Although the exact screen is unknown, it is expected to support a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. On the back, it will have a round camera similar to what was seen on the 13 Ultra.
The 14 Ultra is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5,180mAh battery. The device is expected to come with other features, such as 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, two-way satellite communication, and HyperOS-based Android 14. It will be available in three colors, such as black, orange, and blue.
