Moving on, Counterpoint also noted that the Chinese smartphone maker achieved an impressive Month-over-Month (MoM) growth of 26% in June, making it the fastest growing smartphone brand for the very same month.

In explaining Xiaomi’s phenomenal growth, Counterpoint’s Research Director Tarun Pathak highlighted that the company has been making concerted effort in filling the gap which was created by Huawei’s decline in the smartphone market.

Furthermore, the company’s stellar performance was also helped by the recovery of smartphone demand in key markets like China, Europe and India, as well as Samsung’s decline owing to the disruption of it’s supply chain in Vietnam due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
