Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, has released a mid-range smartphone as a follow up to flagship Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. In recent times, there has been a lot of fuss regarding the upcoming Mi 6X and all that now ends as Lei Jun (Xiaomi’s CEO) unveiled this smartphone at Wuhan University which happens to be his Alma Mata. At launch, nothing spectacular was aired because a majority of the rumors and speculations turned out to be true. Xiaomi Mi 6X is a phone for the offline market so it will be hitting the Mi Stores pretty soon. However, it may also be released as Mi A2 with Android One which will have a wider online coverage.
This smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s mid-range chipset, Snapdragon 660 coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. A 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant is also available. It is equipped with a 5.99-inch 18:9 display and also boasts of a 2160 × 1080 display resolution. Like most mid-range smartphones, it comes with a rear fingerprint scanner and it has a 20MP selfie shooter coupled with a 12MP + 20MP dual rear camera configuration. These cameras support AI and portrait mode.
Xiaomi Mi 6X runs on MIUI 9.5 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo whose major feature is battery conservation. In this light, the moderate 2,910mAh battery seems to be enough to lighten this device.
