This week is indeed an exciting week for smartphone enthusiasts around the world. Just a day after the highly anticipated launch of the Samsung Galaxy S20 flagship series, we are now here to witness another high profile smartphone launch for Xiaomi next-generation’s flagships – Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.
As usual, Xiaomi never fail to impress us with their new flagship offerings every year. This year, the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are baked with improved recipes for it’s camera, charging technology and performance. It will however, continue to be offered at an extremely attractive price point.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi 10 features an impressive 6.7-inches dual-curved, hole-punched AMOLED display. The display also has a peak brightness of 1,120 nits and has an impressive 90Hz refresh rate.
The device is driven by the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC which is capable of supporting both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes. In its memory compartment, the Mi 10 has up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB native storage space that utilizes the latest UFS 3.0 technology.
On it’s rear panel, there is a vertically-aligned quad-camera setup which comprises of a 108 megapixels main shooter, 13 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 2 megapixels depth sensor, as well as a 2 megapixels macro lens. At the front, it’s hole-punched compartment also houses a respectable 20 megapixels selfie camera.
Some of the key highlights for the rear camera include it’s support for 8K video recording, as well as both OIS and EIS.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 carries a 4,780mAh battery that comes with support for Xiaomi’s 30W flash charge technology which could fuel the device from 0 to 100% within 56 minutes. It’s also worth noting that the device supports 30W wireless charging as well.
On the software-side, the Mi 10 will run on the latest MIUI 11 based on Android 10 OS.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro Specifications
As its name suggests, the Mi 10 Pro is the highest-end model among the two. It differs from the vanilla model mainly in terms of camera and battery capacity.
Although the Mi 10 Pro also features a quad-camera setup at the back, but the sensors are greatly improved. It will feature the same 108 megapixels main shooter as the Mi 10, which will be paired with a 20 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 13 megapixels portrait lens, as well as an 8 megapixels telephoto lens. Unlike it’s Mi 10 sibling, the Mi 10 Pro is able to support up to 10x hybird zoom and 50x digital zoom.
Under the hood, the Mi 10 Pro will feature a 4,500mAh battery that supports an incredibly fast 50W flash charge technology which promises to deliver a full charge within 45 minutes.
Aside from the aforementioned differences, the rest of the key specs remain pretty much the same.
Pricing & Availability
The Xiaomi Mi 10 is priced at 3,999 Yuan (US$573), 4,299 Yuan (US$616) and 4,699 Yuan (US$673) for the 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB models respectively.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro is priced at 4,999 Yuan (US$716), 5,499 Yuan (US$788) and 5,999 Yuan (US$859) for the 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB models respectively.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 flagship series has been scheduled for a global launch on February 23rd.
