Xiaomi Mi 10S launched with Snapdragon 870, 108MP Quad-cameras & 33W fast-charging

As scheduled, Xiaomi has officially announced a new member for last year’s Mi 10 series known as the Xiaomi Mi 10S which shape up to be a slightly more affordable alternative for the current Xiaomi Mi 11.

In terms of design, the Xiaomi Mi 10S shares a close resemblance to last year’s Mi 10 Ultra. Upfront, the device sports a 6.67-inches curved, AMOLED display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution and a 90Hz screen refresh rate. It comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and has a 20 megapixels selfie camera.

Around the back, there’s an elongated camera island which houses a quad-camera system lead by a 108 megapixels primary shooter. As for the other three cameras, they include a 13 megapixels ultra-wide lens with 123-degrees FoV, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth unit. For videography, it carries support for 8K video recording at 30 fps.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi 10S is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 870 chipset which will also be powering the global editions of the upcoming Vivo X60 and X60 Pro devices. It will be assisted by up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 flash storage in the memory department.

For a more immersive sound experience, the Xiaomi Mi 10S also features a dual stereo speakers tuned by Harmon Kardon. Furthermore, the device is also equipped with an advanced vapour chamber cooling system to deliver a smooth and consistent smartphone performance.

The device is backed by a respectable 4,780mAh battery which carries support for 33W wired fast-charging, 30W wireless charging, as well as 10W reverse charging. As usual, it runs on the latest MIUI 12 based on Android 11 OS out of the box.

Pricing-wise, the Xiaomi Mi 10S will set you back by 3,299 Yuan (US$507), 3,499 Yuan (US$537) and 3,799 Yuan (US$584) respectively for its 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, as well as 12GB+256GB variants.
