Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition’s Leaked Invite Reveal July 24 Release Date and Pricing

Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition is the first smartphone from the company to feature an under-display fingerprint reader. It is also the first Android phone to feature 3D facial recognition. The handset also features dual-band GPS for precise location tracking. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition was launched alongside the Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE smartphones. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition is yet to go on sale while the other two phones have been available for buying in China since the first week of June. The Explorer Edition smartphone is slated to go on sale in this month. A leaked invite has surfaced online which reveals that the smartphone will go on sale on July 24.

As of this writing, there is no official confirmation from Xiaomi on the release date of Mi 8 Explorer Edition. However, the leaked poster shown below clearly mentions that the Mi 8 Explorer Edition will be available for buying at 10 AM (local time) on July 24. However, the authenticity of the leaked invite could not be confirmed.

An interesting feature of the Mi 8 Explorer Edition is that it features a transparent rear which shows the innards of the phone. The handset is equipped 6.28-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 845, 8 GB of RAM, 128 Gb of storage, dual 12-megapixel cameras, 20-megapixel front camera and 3,000mAh battery. It will be arriving in China with a price tag of 3,699 Yuan ($548).
