Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Gets Phone Mute Feature Through First Update

Xiaomi had launched the Mi Band 3 fitness band alongside the Mi 8 series on May 31. The Chinese manufacturer has rolled out the very first software update for the Mi Band 3 which brings a new feature that allows it to mute the paired Android smartphone.

The new feature is currently available only for Android devices. This feature is yet to arrive on iOS devices. The phone mute feature that has been introduced on the Mi Band 3 is a handy feature that allow its users to remotely silent a linked smartphone when it is not convenient to physically mute it. For instance, a student may use the Mi Band 3 to mute a smartphone that is kept in his bag.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Phone Mute Feature

The Mi Band 3 is currently only available in China with a pricing of 169 Yuan ($26). The Chinese manufacturer is slated to debut NFC enabled edition of the fitness band in September. It is expected to hit the market with a pricing of 199 Yuan ($30).

The device features a 0.78-inch OLED touchscreen display that supports 128 x 80 pixels. It is packed with a 110mAh battery that offers 20 days of life through normal usage. it is equipped with features like heart rate sensor, step counter, calorie counter and more.
