In June 2019, Xiaomi had launched the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 in China. In the next few months, the smartband was made available in wider markets. Fresh information reveals that the company has already started working on the Mi Band 5 and it may go official in June this year.
According to TizHelp, Huami has confirmed on working on the Mi Band 5 for Xiaomi. China is expected to be the first market to lay hands on the fitness band. The publication claims that the Mi Band 5 will be arriving with a larger display than the predecessor model.
The Mi Band 4 has a 0.95-inch display. The successor band may come equipped with a larger display of around 1.2 inches. It will be a color AMOLED touchscreen display like the Mi Band 4. The display of the Mi Band 5 is expected to be better than its previous model when it comes to viewing its content under bright sunlight.
In China, the company had sold its NFC variant only in China. However, the Chinese and global editions of the upcoming the Mi Band 5 will be arriving with support for NFC connectivity. It will allow users to make seamless contactless payments through the Mi Band 5.
The report even states that the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 could be priced at 179 Yuan ($26) in the home market. The predecessor model is selling for around $35 global market. With new features onboard, the Mi Band 5 is likely to arrive with better specs.
