Xiaomi has officially announced the Mi MIX 2S today through an unveiled event in Shanghai. It has arrived as an improved version of the Mi MIX 2 flagship phone that went official in 2017.
Xiaomi MI MIX 2S Specs and Features
The front view of the Mi MIX 2S is not different from the Mi MIX 2. The major upgrade has arrived in the form of new chipset and dual rear cameras. It features a ceramic body and it comes in two colors like black and white. The rear panel also features a fingerprint scanner.
The Mi MIX 2S has a Full HD+ resolution supporting Full Screen 2.0 IPS LCD display of 5.99 inches. The Snapdragon 845 chipset powers the handset and it comes in multiple storage and RAM models. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo that is flavored with MIUI 9.5. In China, the handset will be available with Xiao AI voice assistant.
For photography, it is equipped with 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 wide-angle lens + 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. It carries support for scene detection and it is built to capture impressive bokeh shots. Other camera features include dual pixel autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4-axis OIS. It has an 8-megapixel front camera that is equipped with AI for snapping selfie shots. It lacks a 3.5mm audio jack, but includes other connectivity features like Bluetooth 5.0 GPS, USB-C, dual-SIM, GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and NFC. It includes a 3,400mAh battery that carries support for Quick Charge 3.0. It is the first Xiaomi phone to feature wireless charging support.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S Pricing
The Mi MIX 2S will be available for buying in China from April 3. The wireless charging bed that can be used with other compatible device is priced at 99 Yuan (~$15). It comes free with Mi MIX 2S featuring 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB that is priced at 3,999 Yuan (~$639). The 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage model and 6 GB RM + 128 GB storage variant are respectively priced at 3,299 Yuan (~$527) and 3,599 Yuan (~$575)
