The rumor mill has revealed plenty of details of the Mi MIX 2S in the recent past. However, some of them have surfaced from sources that could not be trusted. Today, a senior member of XDA Developers forum has not only confirmed the existence of Mi MIX 2S but also unearthed key details through its firmware files.
The firmware files belong to a smartphone called Polaris. According to previous leaks, it is the codename of the Mi MIX 2S smartphone. The firmware files have revealed that it is driven by Snapdragon 845 chipset and 3,400mAh battery. It will be arriving pre-installed with Android 8.0 Oreo and it will also carry support for Project Treble. The exact size of the screen of the Mi MIX 2S is not known, but it has been found that it will be delivering FHD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
Reports have claimed that the Mi MIX 2S will be arriving with Sony IMX363 rear camera. This feature has been confirmed as its binaries have been found in the firmware files. The other features that have been revealed the firmware files are scene recognition, dual SIM support, IR blaster, LED light for notifications. Rumors have it that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. It is likely to cost around 3,000 Yuan (~$475) at launch.
