Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be launching the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G edition in the first quarter of 2019. Soon after launch of the Mi MIX 3 smartphone in October, the Xiaomi President Lin Bin had hared an image of the 5G version of the Mi MIX 3 which confirmed that the company is internally testing it. today, the smartphone was spotted in public at China Mobile Partner Conference in Beijing, China. Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo are some of the companies that are showcasing their 5G enabled products at the Chinese exhibition event. At the event, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G edition was demoed to reveal its 5G capabilities.
At the event, the Mi MIX 3 5G edition was seen demonstrating web browsing and live video calling in 5G speeds. The Mi MIX 3 5G edition is fueled by Snapdragon 855 chipset which includes X50 LTE modem. The new modem along with in-house antenna switching technologies will allow the Mi MIX 3 5G edition to support up to 2Gbps of download speeds.
The Mi MIX 2S that was unveiled earlier this year featured the same design as the MI MIX 2. However, the Mi MIX 2S is packed with improved hardware. Hence, the Mi MIX 3 5G may sport the same design as ther recently announced Mi MIX 3 but may include better specs. It is likely that the phone could be packed with 10 GB of RAM
