Xiaomi is rumored to be working on a new tablet. Today, an Indian leakster has spotted the name of Mi Pad 4 in the internal code of Xiaomi’s website. Moreover, a new tablet device from Xiaomi with a model number of M1806D9W has been certified by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT) and China Compulsory Certification (CCC).
As it can be seen in the above image, Xiaomi M1806DPW is an upcoming tablet from the company. The same model number has been approved by CMIIT which suggests that the arrival of the tablet is drawing near. Xiaomi will be launching the Mi Max 3 phablet in the coming month. It is likely that the company may launch the Mi Pad 4 alongside the Mi Max 3at the same launch event in July.
Firmware files of the alleged Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 were leaked few months ago. It has been revealed that the Snapdragon 660 will be powering the tablet. The usual clock speed of the chipset is 2.2 GHz, but it was revealed through the firmware files that it has a slower processing speed of 2.0 GHz. A 6,000mAh battery is expected to power the tablet. The tablet is rumored to arrive with a rear-facing camera of 13-megapixel and a front shooter of 8-megapixel. Like the predecessor model, the upcoming Mi Pad 4 is speculated to arrive with an LCD screen.
