Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Likely to Arrive with 11-inch Display

Xiaomi has not launched a new tablet after the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 and Mi Pad 4 Plus, which launched in August 2018. In February, the Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed that the company will be launching a Mi Pad tablet this year. A fresh leak reveals that the upcoming Mi Pad 5 will be equipped with the largest display seen on a Xiaomi tablet.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 came with an 8-inch IPS LCD display, whereas the Mi Pad 4 Plus offered users an even larger display measuring 10.1”. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Mi Pad 5 will be fitted with a larger screen of 11 inches. The tipster did not share any other information on its specifications.

Xiaomi will be holding a launch event in China on March 29. It is expected to announce a couple of Mi 11 series smartphones such as the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, Mi 11 Pro, and Mi 11 Ultra. It may also unveil some IoT products including Mi Band 6 fitness tracker and a new Mi series notebook. It remains to be seen whether the company uses the same platform to unleash the Mi Pad 5.

Leaked information that appeared last month suggested that the Mi Pad 5 could be equipped with flagship specs. The leak claimed that the tablet has a 144Hz LCD screen with 2K resolution support and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It further mentioned that it has other specs like Snapdragon 870 chipset, 10,000mAh battery, and UFS 3.1 storage. Readers are advised to digest the leak with a grain of salt as its authenticity could not be confirmed.

If the Mi Pad 5 is scheduled to go official on March 29, the company may soon tease some of its features before launch.
