Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 series will be heading to the global market next month

Xiaomi finally announced their first tablet series in three years – Mi Pad 5 series – during the official launch of the new Xiaomi Mix 5 flagship. While the slate will soon be available for purchase in it’s home market, there still isn’t any words on it’s global launch at the moment.

However, according to our friends over at Gizmochina, the vanilla Mi Pad 5 is said to be heading to the global market next month, starting with the European region. The actual date of the launch was however, is still under the wraps, but we’ll probably hear more about it soon.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 features an 11” LCD display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, HDR10 support, as well as a peak brightness of 500 nits. Apart from that, the front display also comes with a new TrueTone technology which allows the display to automatically adjusts colors and brightness according to the amount of ambient light.

Just like any other premium slates in the market, the Mi Pad 5 also brings support for stylus pen and magnetic keyboard cover to allow better productivity on the tablet. In the imaging front, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 gets a single 13 megapixels shooter at the back, as well as an 8 megapixels front-facing camera for selfie and video calls.

Under the hood, it’s powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 860 chipset with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department. It also draws power from a respectable 8,720mAh battery which carries support for 33W fast-charging.

For those who’re interested, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 carries a starting price of just 1,999 Yuan (US$308) in the Chinese market.
