Yesterday, a Chinese tipster revealed that the Redmi Watch has been approved by the MIIT authority of China. Fresh information reveals that the same device could be rebranded as the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite in some markets.
It is speculated that a new device with the REDMIWT01 model number could be heading to China as Redmi Watch. Now, the UL Demko certification platform has certified a new device named Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite.
Interestingly, the device is mentioned with “REDMIWT02” model number, which is similar to the model number of the Redmi Watch. Hence, there is a possibility that the Redmi Watch could be rebranded as Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite in certain markets. Readers are advised to wait for newer reports to find out whether the Redmi Watch will be rebadged as Mi Watch Lite.

Nothing concrete is known on the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite. The UL Demko certification shows that the device carries support for 5Vdc and 0.4A charging. It can be assumed from the moniker of the device that it will be coming with weaker specs compared to the original Xiaomi Mi Watch that debuted in China in November 2019.
The Xiaomi Mi Watch that went official last year came with a 1.78-inch S-AMOLED display, Snapdragon 3100 chipset, 570mAh battery 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of native storage. It came with other features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and wireless charging. It was priced at 1,299 Yuan ($190) at launch.
