Last month, Xiaomi unveiled the company’s first-ever foldable smartphone known as the Mi Mix Fold during its annual mega launch event. Despite being one of the most expensive smartphone launched by the Chinese smartphone giant so far, the device continues to sell like hot cakes in its home market.
According to Xiaomi, the company had apparently generated more than 400 million Yuan in revenue during the first minute of the Mi Mix Fold’s debut sale in the Chinese market. For those who missed out, the Mi Mix Fold is priced at 9,999 Yuan (US$1,520), 10,999 Yuan (US$1,674) and 12,999 Yuan (US$1,980) respectively for its 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB and 16GB+512GB variants.
Therefore, this equates to between 30,770 units to 40,000 units sold within the first minute into its debut sale which is definitely a huge achievement keeping in mind that the Mi Mix Fold is the company’s maiden foldable smartphone model.
As a quick recap, the Mi Mix Fold features a 6.52” AMOLED display with 2,520 x 840 pixels screen resolution and 90Hz refresh rate on the outside, as well as an 8.01” WQHD+ OLED display when fully extended.
The device is powered by a flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset which will be complemented by the so-called Butterfly Cooling System for a smooth and consistent performance output.
To keep its lights on, the Mi Mix Fold is also backed by a 5,020mAh battery with 67W wired fast-charging support that’s capable of delivering a full charge from 0 to 100% within a short span of just 37 minutes.
