According to Xiaomi, the Mi 9 Pro 5G will be able to support 40W ultra-fast wired charging. That’s certainly one of the quickest in the market, but still fall short of OPPO’s newly announced 65W SuperVOOC Fast Charge 2.0 which will debut with the upcoming OPPO Reno Ace on October 10th. However, it is still noteworthy that the wired charging can bring the Mi 9 Pro 5G from 0 to 100% in just 48 minutes.
Coming to it’s wireless charging, the device will utilize the latest 30W Mi Charge Turbo which has a power rating of 30W. This stood on par with OPPO’s 30W Wireless VOOC Flash Charge. From what we’d learned, it only takes 69 minutes to fully charge the Mi 9 Pro 5G from 0%. On the other hand, it only takes 25 minutes to refuel the battery from 0 to 50%.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi 9 Pro 5G will arrive with a 10W reverse charging feature. This is something which we had not seen on the current Mi 9 series, and is hence a huge upgrade for the upcoming Mi 9 Pro 5G.
Besides a bump to it’s charging capabilities, the Mi 9 Pro 5G will also sport the latest Snapdragon 855+ SoC out of the box. Although not officially confirmed, but we could expect to see an upgrade towards it’s RAM and onboard storage space as well.
