HMD Global releases an update for four old Symbian Nokia phones

There was a time when Nokia ruled the smartphone industry, this was not in the Android and iOS era. Nokia was on top of its game when the Symbian system still ruled the smartphone market. Now that the Symbian era is long gone, many Nokia phones are still trapped in with a “dead spirit”. Earlier this year, HMD Global which revived the Nokia brand promised that it will release the recent Android 9 Pie update to all the Nokia phones which were released after it took over the company. The company has since fulfilled that promise but we didn’t know that it had other plans.

Recent reports now show that four archaic Nokia phones are currently getting a new update. These smartphones include Nokia 808 Pureview, N8, C7, and E7 phones. Nokia tripartite team Delight has just sent a big gift, they released the latest iteration of Symbian 3. Nokia 808 is updated to v1.7, C7 is updated to v6.5, E7 is updated to v1.2, and N8 is updated to v6.6. However, C7/E7/N8 only supports English and Russian. However, it is worthy of note that none of these smartphones support 4G LTE network thus they are practically useless for social media needs. Looking at the Nokia 808 Pureview for instance, it was released at the 2012 MWC and at the time, its specs were flagship range. It comes with a 4-inch display, 512MB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. These specs won’t fit into today’s world. The only feature of this smartphone which is still appreciable today is its 41MP Carl Zeiss camera.
