Moto Z3 Play With 18:9 Display, Dual Cameras, Moto Mods Launched for $499

After launching the Moto G6 and Moto E5 series earlier in this year, Lenovo-owned Motorola announced the all new Moto Z3 Play smartphone yesterday through a launch event in Brazil. Compared to predecessor Moto Z2 Play phone, the Z3 Play comes with various enhanced features like 18:9 aspect ratio display and dual rear cameras.

The Moto Z3 Play coms with FHD+ resolution supporting Super AMOLED display of 6.01 inches that is dubbed as MaxVision screen by the company.  The handset features a glass body with splash-resistant coating.Moto Z3 Play

 

The Snapdragon 636 chipset is present under the hood of the Z3 Play. The SoC is coupled with 4 GB of RAM. It comes in storage options like 32 GB and 64 GB. It is fueled by a 3,000mAh battery with 15W charging.

For photography, Motorola has included a dual camera setup inside the round-shaped camera housing on the backside of the phone. It comprises of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with 1.4micron pixels that is assisted by 5-megapixel depth sensor for capture bokeh shots. The dual cameras can also shoot 4K resolution videos. The frontside of the phone features a wide-angle 8-megapixel camera with a pixel size of 1.1micron.

The Moto Z3 Play has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It comes loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo and it is fully integrated with Google Lens for text scanning, object and landmark recognition through the camera app. The handset carries for Moto Mods accessories like its predecessor models. Motorola will be shipping the phone with Battery Mod. The handset lacks a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Motorola Moto Z3 Play comes in a single color option of Deep Indigo and its starting variant is priced at $499.
