OnePlus 6T Invitation Leaked; Reveals October 17 Launch Date

The rumor mill is now actively revealing leaked photos and key specs of the OnePlus 6T. In-display fingerprint scanner will be the major feature arriving on the smartphone, but the handset will be lacking the good old 3.5mm audio jack. Previous reports have claimed that the OnePlus 6T will be launching on Oct. 17. A leaked invitation that has surfaced on Weibo also hints the same date.

A recently spotted OnePlus 6T commercial in India starring Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan carried “unlock the speed” tagline which hinted the arrival of in-display fingerprint reader. It also carries the OnePlus 6T launch event date for India as Oct. 17. As of this writing, there is no official confirmation on the launch date of OP6T.

OnePlus has already confirmed that it will be announcing the new Type C Bullets earphones alongside its next flagship device. Hence, it is likely that the USB-C earphones by the company will be announced with OnePlus 6T on Oct. 17. The new Type C Bullets earphones will allow users to enjoy superior audio experience through the USB-C port available on the phone.

The OnePlus 6T will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset that powers the OnePlus 6 that was announced few years ago. The 128 GB and 256 GB storage variants of the OnePlus 6T may respectively feature 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. It is expected to deliver Android 9 Pie and Oxygen OS 9.0 experience out of the box. It is likely to feature the same 16-megapixel selfie camera and 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera setup.

The live photos of the OnePlus 6T have surfaced in earlier this week have revealed its front design. The leaked images have revealed that the handset will be arriving with a waterdrop notch like the OPPO R17 smartphone. At present, there is no information available on the pricing of the phone.
