According to Xiaomi’s Vice President Lu Weibing, the upcoming Redmi’s smartphone with 64 megapixels main snapper has already under went production two weeks ago. This was accompanied with a short clip showing off the assembling process of the device in what seems to be a mass production factory.
From the clip, we could see that the device is affixed with a quad-camera setup which has three sensors vertically-aligned as well as another one which is placed towards the right.
Adding on to that, Lu also mentioned that the number of units stocked up this time round should be able to meet the demand of the consumers. This is definitely a good news for most people given that Redmi smartphones were always quickly sold out during the first flash sale. As a result, most people have to wait a couple of weeks in order to make their purchase.
If nothing goes wrong, this highly anticipated handset could be announced as early as September next month. Surely, Redmi isn’t the only smartphone maker which is prepping a 64MP smartphone. Realme had also earlier confirmed that a 64MP quad-camera handset is also currently in the company’s pipeline.
If you think 64MP camera is already the limit, then you’re certainly wrong. Earlier this month, Xiaomi has also announced it’s plan to launch the world’s first 108MP camera-centric smartphone which utilizes Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor.
