Barely two weeks after Meizu sent out press invites for the January 27 launch of its budget smartphone, the Meizu M5S, a new leak showing the phone’s specs as well as likely price which the device would launch with has appeared. The Meizu M5S is set to become Meizu’s first smartphone to launch this year and there isn’t any thing spectacular about the device revealed on the specs sheet.
The leaked specs sheet details the M5S as launching with a 5.2-inch IPS display as well as Meizu’s mCharge fast charging, and mTouch fingerprint identification technology. The M5S is also listed to feature dualSIM / dual Standby support, 4G connectivity. In addition, the poster tips the device as coming with an octa-core next generation CPU which is likely a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor. As for the price, the M5S has got a cheap 999 yuan ($145) price tag slammed on it, that’s if the leaked specs sheet turns out to be authentic.
The Meizu M5S is expected to be launched on January 27 and if Meizu’s word is anything to go by, then the device might be launched without any elaborate launch event.
