Xiaomi launched the Redmi Pro around July last year as its first smartphone with a dual camera setup. Apart from the dual cameras, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro comes with a far more premium build, using a brushed metal body as well as OLED display. Now, a leaked product poster is suggesting Xiaomi has got a Redmi Pro 2 in the works.
The product poster surfaced on Weibo and even though we cannot verify its authenticity, it is worth taking a look at. The poster reveals among other things that the device would come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage on the high end version and a lower version with 4GB + 64GB storage. Both storage versions vary in their prices which is also listed as 1599 yuan & 1799 yuan respectively. There is also a 12MP Sony IMX362 rear sensor listed and a large 4,500mAh battery.
The purported Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 not only differs from the Redmi Pro in the specs lineup, but also in the attached photos , as the dual cameras the Redmi Pro launched with is visibly absent on the render. The device seems to have a larger display, though, with an ultra-slim bezels at the two side edges of the display. There is also a rear mounted fingerprint sensor which isn’t round in shape. We’ll take this with a pinch of salt until it is confirmed.
