This year there were plenty of phones with waterdrop notch displays. The next trend in the display design for smartphones is the usage of a punch-hole for the front-facing camera. Samsung phones like Galaxy S11 series, Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 are expected to use top-center positioned punch-hole on their displays. The Honor V30 and V30 Pro phones have pill-shaped punch-hole for two front-facing cameras at the top-left corner of their displays. The Redmi K30 will have its pill-shaped display cutout at the top-right corner. The Vivo X30 that is debuting next month also features a punch-hole display. A fresh leak reveals that the upcoming OPPO Reno 3 will be also featuring a punch-hole screen.
A leaked screenshot of the upcoming Reno 3 is now doing rounds on Weibo. There is an unused white area at the top-left corner in the image shown above. This space could be because the display of the phone has a top-left corner positioned punch-hole. The screenshot also suggests that the phone carries support for dual-mode 5G. It is advisable to take the leak with a pinch of salt since there is no concrete evidence that the screengrab really belongs to the forthcoming Reno 3.
OPPO hasn’t started teasing the arrival of the Reno 3 smartphone. However, the rumor mill is speculating that it will go official in December. It will be arriving as the first phone with ColorOS 7. Rumors have that it could be featuring the soon-to-be-announced Snapdragon 735 5G chipset.
