It’s long rumored that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 series will be arriving with a fluid 120Hz display; up from the typical 60Hz displays we saw on the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 devices.

However, the latest tweet from renowned tipster @UniverseIce has noted one limitation for the 120Hz display on the Galaxy S20 series smartphones. Apparently, the 120Hz refresh rate will not be available if the device’s screen resolution is set to WQHD mode. In this case, it will only be available with a 60Hz refresh rate.
Therefore, users can choose between three different modes for it’s display setting: FHD @ 60Hz, WQHD @ 60Hz, as well as FHD @ 120Hz. The reason for omitting 120Hz option for WQHD resolution was not stated, but it’s likely to be linked with the hefty power consumption.
In recent months, smartphones with high refresh rate display are slowly becoming a norm, even for mid-ranger smartphones. This had already been seen on the recently announced Redmi K30 and Realme X50 smartphones.
In case you’d missed out, the same tipster had also earlier revealed the camera specs of the upcoming Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra as well.
In the coming few weeks, we’re definitely going to hear more about the Galaxy S20 as we inches towards it’s February 11th launch day.
