POCO India General Manager Reveals Plans of the New Entity

Xiaomi Global VP and Managing Director, Manu Kumar Jain recently revealed that the POCO brand will become an independent entity very soon. He had also stated soon POCO will share its forthcoming plans for its fans. Today, POCO India General Manager C Manmohan in an interview with NDTV Gadgets 360 shared the plans of the company.

Manmohan revealed that the company will stick to its mantra of ‘Everything you need, nothing you don’t’ and it will POCO India will soon have a separate office and dedicated teams for sales, marketing and product. The POCO phones will continue to come with MIUI based Android OS along with POCO launcher. Also, it will continue to use the after sales services from Xiaomi.

At initial stage, POCO phones will continue to sell through online platforms. Later, POCO devices will be also made available offline. However, POCO phones won’t be available through Mi Stores. The company is also working on a building a dedicated community of POCO fans.

The POCO phones with its value-for-money pricing could be also rivaling with Redmi phones in the market. Rumors have it that POCO could be launching as many as three to four phones this year. The names of the rumored devices are Poco F2, Poco F2 Lite, Poco X2 and Poco H2. Manmohan did not reveal any information on the names of the forthcoming devices.

Manmohan did confirm that there will be a successor for the good old Poco F1 phone. He confirmed that the phone will break cover in this quarter. However, he stated that the company will first start off with a single phone. The POCO brand will become independent only in India. Its global brand named Pocophone will continue to be part of Xiaomi.
