Redmi Note 9 will be announced in India on March 12. It is speculated that the smartphone may also go official this month in China. The series may include the regular Redmi Note 9 and a higher version called Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphone. The model number of the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro smartphones are under the wraps. A new charger with 22.5W fast charging has been approved by the 3C authority of China. It could be the charger of the upcoming Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphone.
The MDY-11-EM charger that has been approved by the 3C regulatory boy of China shows that it carries support for up to 10V and 2.25A. Hence, the charger is expected to offer maximum charging speeds of 22.5W rapid charging. The newly spotted charger is unlikely to charge a flagship phone from Xiaomi. The reason behind it is that the newer flagship phones from Xiaomi come with support for faster charging.
For instance, the recently announced Xiaomi Mi 10 5G supports 30W rapid charging whereas the more advanced Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G carries support for 50W fast charging. Also, the forthcoming Redmi K30 Pro 5G is expected to arrive with support for 33W fast charging. Hence, the newly seen 22.5W charger seems fit for an upcoming Xiaomi / Redmi phone.
The Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones from last year came with support for 18W fast charging. There is a possibility that the upcoming Redmi Note 9 Pro could be equipped with 22.5W rapid charger. Shown above is a concept render of the smartphone created by popular designer Benjamin Geskin. The phone can be seen a square-shaped quad camera module, a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a punch-hole screen. Rumors have it that the Redmi Note 9 Pro will be powered by the upcoming SM6250 mid-range 5G chipset from Qualcomm and the Redmi Note 9 could be equipped with Dimensity 800 5G chipset.
