Last week, OPPO’s VP Brian Shen had hinted on Weibo that the upcoming OPPO Ace 2 will be announced on April 13th. His words have been proven to be true after OPPO officially confirmed today that the device will indeed be announced on April 13th next week.
Besides affirming the launch date, OPPO had also published the official renders of the OPPO Ace 2 on JD.com ahead of its official launch. The renders depict the device in two colorways namely Moon Rock Ash and Fantasy Purple.
On its front panel, the OPPO Ace 2 features an AMOLED hole-punched display which is said to measure 6.5-inches diagonally according to its TENAA listing. The hole-punched compartment will be equipped with a decent 16 megapixels selfie camera.
Over at the back, there will be an unique circular module which shares a close resemblance to that of the newly announced Redmi K30 Pro. This will be home to a quad-camera setup which includes a 48 megapixels main shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
Under the hood, the OPPO Ace 2 is expected to be driven by the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC which is capable of supporting both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes. It will be coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage space in its memory compartment.
To keep its lights on, there will be a 1,955mAh dual-cell battery which will be able to support the latest 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast-charging technology, and up to 40W wireless charging.
Recently, the OPPO Ace 2 had also been spotted on AnTuTu with a score of 560,217 points. However, this is likely to be a prototype device and the actual device will probably score much higher than that.
