Microsoft Surface Duo will go on sale on September 10th for $1,399

Microsoft announced the Surface Duo in October 2019 and it is yet to release in the market. After months of speculation on its market release, the company officially confirmed today that its shipments will begin on Sept. 10. The company has also confirmed that it will be available with a price tag of $1,399.

The device will be initially available only in the U.S. The company will later confirm on the other markets that will be receiving the Surface Duo. The device features a pair of 5.6-inch OLED panels that individually offer 1800 x 1350 pixels resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio. Both displays join to offer 8.1-inch screen space with 1800 x 2700 pixels resolution support and 3:2 aspect ratio. Both screens are protected by Gorilla Glass panels.

It has 11-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, and it comes with features like low light mode, HDR multi-frame capture, EIS, and 7x super zoom. It can capture up to 4K video shots at 30fps. It is the only one camera on the device which can be used for video calls and photography.

The Snapdragon 855 chipset powers the Surface Duo with 5 GB of RAM. It comes with up to 256 GB of storage. It does not support 5G connectivity. It has a 3,577mAh dual-battery setup that delivers all day battery life.

The device runs on Android and there tweaked Microsoft and Amazon apps that can fully make use of the dual displays. The pre-orders of the device will be carried out in the U.S on Sept. 1 ahead of its Sept. 10 market release date.
