Recently, ASUS teased the arrival of a new ROG series gaming smartphone. Rumors have it that it may go official as early as next month. Yesterday, a live shot of the phone had appeared on Weibo. The leaked shot had revealed that the ROG Phone 5 could be arriving with a slight change in its rear design. Today, a new video of the same phone has appeared online to give a look at its design once again.
The first teaser of the upcoming ROG Phone had revealed that it could be coming with a new display design. However, in the leaked video, the ROG Phone 5 can be seen sporting thick bezels like the predecessor models.
The display seems to have a slight curvature towards the left and right edges. The tipster who shared the video claims that it is equipped with a 6.6-inch OLED display. Like the predecessor models, it will continue to support a high refresh rate. The top bezel of the phone features a selfie camera.
The rear shell of the phone has a horizontal triple camera setup at the top-left corner. Speculations are rife that it could be equipped with the same 64-megapixel primary camera that was made available on the ROG Phone 3. The back panel of the upcoming ROG Phone has a secondary screen at the center for displaying some sort of special effects during games and while receiving incoming calls.
The handset said to be housing a 6,000mAh dual-cell battery. It is expected to arrive with support for 65W fast charging. The Snapdragon 888 mobile platform will be present under the hood of the phone. It is still unclear the next ROG phone will be called ROG Phone 4 or ROG Phone 5.
