Last month, Redmi confirmed that it will be launching the Redmi K40 series of smartphones in China in February. Today, Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing took to Weibo to confirm that the Redmi K40 will go official on Feb. 25.
The launch poster that has been released on Weibo only confirms the Feb. 25 launch date for the Redmi K40 and has no information on its specs. Weibing claimed through Weibo that the Redmi K40 will offer users a new design and new experience.
In January, Weibing confirmed a couple of features of the Redmi K40 series. He revealed it will be featuring the Snapdragon 888 chipset, an expensive flat screen, a battery capacity that is greater than 4,000mAh, and a starting price of 2,999 Yuan ($465). Probably, he talked about the Redmi K40 Pro model. There is a possibility that the vanilla K40 may also go official alongside it.
Recently, three Xiaomi devices such as M2102J2SC, M2012K11AC, and M2012K11C were seen at the 3C certification platform of China with a 33W rapid charger. It is believed that the M2102J2SC phone could be the upcoming Snapdragon 870 powered Xiaomi Mi 10 special edition phone. The M2012K11AC and M2012K11C model numbers may belong to the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro smartphones.
While the Pro model is expected to feature the SD888 chip, it is unclear which processor will fuel the vanilla. There is a possibility that the K40 may feature a new Qualcomm 7-series 5G-ready chipset.
Redmi has been teasing the arrival of the new 11th Intel processor-powered RedmiBook Pro 15 for the past few weeks. It is likely that the company may launch it alongside the Redmi K40 models on Feb. 25.
