OPPO has announced a new A series smartphone known as the OPPO A54 in the Indonesian market which will be succeeding last year’s OPPO A53 smartphone. As usual, the OPPO A54 continues to be marketed as an entry-level smartphone which will be targeting the budget segment.
Upfront, the OPPO A54 features a 6.51” IPS LCD display which offers a HD+ screen resolution and a standard 60Hz screen refresh rate. It comes with the usual hole-punch design for its front display to accommodate its 16 megapixels selfie camera.
Around the back of the device, there’s a square-shaped camera island that houses a triple-camera setup consisting of a 13 megapixels primary shooter, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels bokeh lens to help with portrait shots.
Under the hood, the OPPO A54 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 460 chip found in last year’s OPPO A53. It will be paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that can be further expanded by up to 256GB via a microSD card.
The OPPO A54 is backed by a massive 5,000mAh battery which carries support for 18W fast-charging. On the software-side, it boots on ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10 OS. Besides that, other notable features that accompany the device also include its side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as its IPX4 rating.
For those who’re interested, the OPPO A54 is available in both Starry Blue and Crystal Black colorways. The device is priced at Rp. 2,699,000 (US$186) for its sole 4GB+128GB model in the Indonesian market.
In case you’d missed out, there’s also a 5G variant of the OPPO A54 which was launched in the Japanese market last month. This device however, features a largely different design and specs as the OPPO A54 4G.
