After launching the OnePlus Nord CE 5G and OnePlus Nord N200 5G last month, OnePlus is now prepping for the launch of yet another Nord series smartphone known as the OnePlus Nord 2 5G – a familiar face in the rumor mill.
What we heard from past reports is that the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is expected to debut during the third-quarter of the year. Now, reputable tipster @stufflistings has further revealed that the OnePlus Nord 2 5G could well debut somewhere during the last ten days of the month.
Although we’re still at least two to three weeks away from it’s alleged launch date, but we’d already learned quite a fair bit about this device courtesy of all the recent leaks.
Design-wise, the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be arriving with a fresh design that looks different from last year’s model. The rear camera module now looks similar to the OnePlus 9 series smartphone amidst some rearrangement to it’s camera sensor and flash unit. Similarly, we’ll be looking at a triple-cam setup rather than a quad-camera system this time round.
Past reports had suggested that these cameras are likely to be a 50 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide unit, as well as another 2 megapixels sensor which is likely to be used for macro shot or depth sensing.
Coming to the front side of the phone, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G ditches a dual-cam setup and instead opted for a single 32 megapixels selfie camera housed within a hole-punch cutout on the upper-left corner of the screen.
Other than that, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is expected to be driven by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset which is accompanied by up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department. The phone is also likely to draw power from a respectable 4,500mAh battery with either 30W or 65W fast-charging support.
