It seems like Vivo will soon be launching a new 5G entry-level smartphone in the Indian market on July 15th, according to a new leak on Twitter. This device, dubbed as the Vivo Y72 5G, is a completely different model as the Vivo Y72 5G that was launched in the South-East Asian markets earlier this year.
Based on it’s leaked specs and design, the Vivo Y72 5G that’s heading to the Indian market is basically a rebranded model of the Vivo Y52s t1 that was launched in the Chinese market recently.
As such, the phone comes with pretty much the same specs including a 6.58” LCD display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution along with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It’s dewdrop-notch upfront is also home to an 8 megapixels front-facing shooter for selfie and video-calling purposes.
Around the back of the phone, it comes with a square-shape camera module which houses a dual-cam setup that includes a 48 megapixels main camera as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y72 5G is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 480 chipset which is paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department. It’s also said to be fitted with a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support.
Coming to the very last piece of information, the Vivo Y72 5G is tipped to be priced at INR20,990 (US$282) for it’s sole 8GB+128GB model.
