Honor Play 20 Pro quietly unveiled with MediaTek Helio G80 chipset

Honor has quietly announced a new mid-ranger smartphone in the Chinese market known as the Honor Play 20 Pro that comes with some slightly upgraded specs over the Honor Play 20 which was announced back in April this year.

For starter, the Honor Play 20 Pro features a 6.53” OLED display upfront that offers a FHD+ screen resolution, DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, in-display fingerprint scanner, as well as a 16 megapixels front-facing camera for selfie and video-calling purposes.

At the back, the phone sports a square-shape camera island which is home to a quad-camera system comprising of a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.

Under the hood, the Honor Play 20 Pro is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 chipset which is paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department.

To keep it’s lights on, the phone draws power from a pretty modest 3,800mAh battery with 22.5W fast-charging support that’s capable of delivering a full charge in just 65 minutes.

For those who’re interested, the Honor Play 20 Pro is priced at just 1,699 Yuan (US$263) for it’s 8GB+128GB trim in the Chinese market.
