Nothing, a global tech company founded by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, recently impressed with it’s first-ever TWS earphone – Nothing Ear (1). While many initially thought that the company will be focusing primarily on audio products, that apparently isn’t the case.
The company has confirmed during an official press event that it’ll be expanding into the highly competitive mobile market with the launch of it’s first smartphone dubbed as the Nothing Phone (1).
This Nothing Phone (1), according to Pei, is a device envisaged to become ”the most compelling alternative to Apple”, and is one that’s specifically built for ”seamless connectivity and defined by iconic design”.
Described as the breath of fresh air to the sleepy smartphone industry, the Nothing Phone (1) will boot on the company’s in-house Nothing OS designed to effortlessly connect and integrate Nothing products, as well as products from other world-leading brands.
While the company has yet to reveal anything with regards to it’s hardware specifications, but it did confirmed that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon mobile platform just like most other major smartphone brands.
Additionally, the Nothing Phone (1) is also slated to receive three years of OS updates and four years of security updates to ensure a smooth and bug-free experience that’s free of security vulnerabilities.
