Besides launching the Tecno Spark 9 Pro, Tecno had also announced a more affordable Spark 9 series smartphone known as the Tecno Spark 9T in the Nigerian market. The phone shares a largely identical design as it’s ”Pro” counterpart, but do have some differences in terms of their internals.
Right off the bat, the new Tecno Spark 9T builds around a 6.6” IPS LCD display featuring a FHD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, the phone relies on an 8MP front-facing camera situated within a waterdrop-notch along it’s upper bezel.
On the imaging front, the Tecno Spark 9T features a dual ring camera design on the rear side which encloses a triple-camera system. These cameras include a 13 megapixels main camera, 2 megapixels depth unit, as well as an AI lens.
Unlike the Tecno Spark 9 Pro which was powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, the Spark 9T settles with an entry-level Helio G37 platform instead. This will be paired with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB onboard storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card.
Other than that, the phone is also backed by a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging speed. Coming to the software side of things, the device will be shipped with HiOS 8.6 based on Android 12 OS out of the box.
Those who’re interested can pick the phone from four different colors such as Atlantic Blue, Turquoise Cyan, Iris Purple and Cocoa Gold. The device will be priced at 78,300 Naira (US$189) and 88,000 Naira (US$212) respectively for it’s 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB variants.
