Vivo and its sub-brand iQOO are gearing up to launch new smartphones in China. Today, Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station took to Weibo to share the release timeframe of the upcoming Vivo and iQOO phones.
According to the tipster, iQOO Z6 will debut first in this month (August). In the next month, the company will unveil the Vivo X Fold S. The iQOO Neo 7 will break cover in October.
The company’s true flagship is tipped to launch in November or December. Qualcomm is expected to announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in November. Hence, it is likely that Vivo’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered flagship may debut by the end of this year.
Reports have revealed that the iQOO Z6 will be equipped with a 120Hz IPS LCD display and will be powered by the Snapdragon 778G or 778G+ chipset. It is likely to carry support for 80W fast charging. The iQOO Z6x is likely to come out at the same time as this device. It will have a big battery and support 44W fast charging.
The Vivo X Fold S is likely to arrive as an incremental upgrade over the original X Fold foldable phone, which was announced in the first half of 2022. It is likely to feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It is likely to be thinner and lighter than the original model.
The iQOO Neo 7 is said to feature the Dimensity 9000+ chipset. Its rear camera setup will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766V main camera. The rest of its specs will be identical to the iQOO 10 5G, which debuted in China last month.
