Vivo is reportedly working on its next foldable phone, called the Vivo X Fold S. In all likelihood, it will be an updated version of the original Vivo X Fold, which was announced earlier this year. Tipster Digital Chat Station has once again shared the key specifications of the X Fold S. The device has also been seen on the Geekbench benchmarking site and the 3C certification site in China.
A new Vivo device with model number V2229 has appeared on 3C and Geekbench. According to a Chinese tipster, this device will debut on the market with the Vivo X Fold S moniker.
The 3C listing of the Vivo V2229 reveals that it is a 5G-ready device, which may ship with an 80W charger. To recall, the original model supported 66W fast charging. The Geekbench listing (via. tipster Mukul Sharma) of the device reveals that it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, 12 GB of RAM, and Android 12 OS.
According to DCS, the Vivo X Fold S will feature a foldable AMOLED LTPO panel that offers a 2K resolution and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The cover and the inner displays will be equipped with ultra-sonic in-display fingerprint scanners. The rear camera setup of the device will have a 50-megapixel main camera and a periscope zoom camera.
The X Fold S will pack a 4,700mAh battery, which will also support 50W wireless charging apart from 80W wired charging. The tipster has further claimed that it will be made available in a new red color with a leather back. The tipster previously claimed that the X Fold S will debut in September.
