During the Google I/O 2022 event, which was held in May this year, Google revealed that the Pixel 7 series and Pixel tablet would be launching in October. Now, the search engine giant has confirmed that the new Pixel devices will be unveiled at 10 AM ET on Oct. 6 globally.
The official Google Store confirms that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be equipped with the Tensor G2 chipset. It goes without saying that the Pixel 7 duo will come preloaded with the all-new Android 13 OS.
The official images released by the brand reveal that the Pixel 7 series will have a protruding camera bar. The Pixel 7 lineup will not have a dual-tone design like the Pixel 6 series. Both devices have a punch-hole OLED panel on the front with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
Rumors are rife that the Pixel 7 will feature a 6.3-inch OLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution. The Pixel 7 Pro, on the other hand, will feature a bigger 6.7-inch or 6.8-inch OLED screen. The former may support a 90Hz refresh rate, whereas the latter may offer a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Pixel 7’s dual camera setup may include a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GN1 main camera and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX381 ultra-wide camera. The Pixel 7 Pro’s triple camera unit will have a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 main snapper. The Pixel 7 series is likely to feature a 11-megapixel front-facing camera. A report from last month claimed that the Pixel 7 series will go on sale from Oct. 13.
The Pixel Watch will be Google’s first smartwatch. Leaks that have surfaced so far have revealed that it will have a round-shaped dial, a crown, and a physical button. It will run on the WearOS and offer features like Google Assistant, GPS, and NFC.
