Meizu is expected to return to the flagship smartphone market in China in 2023. A recent report claimed that Meizu’s next flagship will not have the Meizu 19 branding. Instead, it will be called the Meizu 20. A new Meizu phone powered by the latest Snapdragon 8-series chip has appeared on Geekbench. It appears that it could be a Meizu 20 series phone.
The model number of the Meizu phone that has appeared on Geekbench is M2392. The “kalama” codename for the Qualcomm chipset is good evidence that confirms that the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform.
The SoC is assisted by 12 GB of RAM, and the device runs on Android 13 OS. It scored 1409 points in the single-core test of the Geekbench 5. In its multi-core test, the phone scored 4199 points.
The Geekbench appearance of the M2392 indicates that Meizu could be internally testing its performance. However, the final marketing name of the device is not known yet.
A recent report claimed that the Meizu phone with the M381Q model number would debut as the Meizu 20. The M391Q device is said to debut as the Meizu 20 Pro. As can be seen, the M2392 model number does not match the model numbers that surfaced in the recent leak.
At present, there is no word on the other specifications of the phone. As usual, the company is expected to offer the Meizu 20 series with an impressive design. Hopefully, more details about the Meizu 20 lineup will surface in the coming days.
