Oppo is reportedly working on the Oppo Find N5 foldable phone for the Chinese market. The device will succeed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Find N3, which went official in 2023. A new Weibo post by tipster Smart Pikachu has revealed some key details about the N5.
Oppo Find N5 to be compatible Apple ecosystem
According to the tipster, the Oppo Find N5 is set to be the most powerful foldable phone in the first half of next year. However, other leaks suggest it may debut in the first quarter of 2025. This suggests that the Find N5 may not have any competitors in the first half of 2025. Nevertheless, the Vivo X Fold 4, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, is also expected to launch in the first half of the year.
The tipster also revealed that a circular module will house a 50-megapixel triple camera setup in the Find N5. It will have a lighter and slimmer design with an enhanced metal texture. To recall, the Find N3 measured 11.7mm in the folded state and weighed around 240 grams.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered foldable phone will support the Oppo’s wireless magnetic ecosystem. Remarkably, Oppo has also worked on compatibility with the Apple ecosystem, making the Find N5 a compelling foldable option for iPhone users.
Other reports have claimed that the Find N5’s internal screen may support a 2K+ resolution, and it may pack a 5,700 mAh battery. Its rear camera setup is expected to feature a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide snapper, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom support. The device’s folded state is likely to reduce its thickness to 9.xmm.
Speculation suggests that the Find N5 might be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 in select markets such as India, Europe, and the US, though no concrete details are available regarding its launch timeline.
