According to the tipster, the engineering prototype of the OnePlus 15 features Qualcomm’s upcoming SM8850 chipset—believed to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 —positioning it as a flagship built for power users. This also hints that the company may not bring any significant upgrade to the camera department as compared to the previous generation.

A key change will be the shift to a flat display with ultra-thin bezels, made possible by LIPO packaging technology. This design choice will likely give the phone a sleek, edge-to-edge look and a more symmetrical front profile.

Interestingly, the prototype is fitted with a battery that begins with the digit “7”, strongly suggesting a capacity above 7,000mAh. Fast charging appears to be a priority too, with support for both 100W wired and wireless charging reportedly in testing. Despite packing a huge battery, it is expected to flaunt a slim and lightweight profile.

Other expected features include a 0916 vibration motor for refined haptic feedback, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and a rear shell made from durable fibreglass. The phone may also carry IP68/IP69 certifications, indicating a high level of resistance to dust and water.

The OnePlus 15 could feature a 6.78-inch flat LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution, departing from the curved 2K panels seen on previous models. On the imaging front, OnePlus is currently conducting A/B testing for a triple 50-megapixel camera setup. This includes a main sensor (with both standard and ultra-large sensor variants under evaluation), an ultra-wide lens, and a periscope telephoto camera with roughly 3x zoom—available in both compact and mid-size options.
