Meizu has finally confirmed the Meizu 22 launch date for China. The flagship phone, which was expected to launch in April, is now scheduled to go official on Sept. 15. Before launch, the company has confirmed several details about the device.
Meizu 22 key specifications
According to the brand, the Meizu 22 will feature a 6.32-inch OLED surrounded by ultra-thin 1.2mm bezels on all four sides. What’s interesting about this phone is that it is the only flagship that has white bezels.
Under the hood, the Meizu 22 will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and a 5,500mAh battery with 80W charging. The device will lack support for wireless charging.
The Meizu 22 will feature an OmniVision OV50D front-facing camera. It will be the company’s first smartphone to feature a periscope telephoto camera. The brand revealed that it will be an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope camera with an f/2.4 aperture and support for 3x optical zoom. It will also support telephoto macro photography. The rear camera setup is accompanied by an RGB-lit LED flash.
The rear camera setup will feature an OV50H main camera with an f/1.68 aperture and OIS support. It will be joined by an OV50 ultra-wide snapper.
The Meizu 22 will come preloaded with the Android 15 OS with a layer of Flyme AI OS on top. It will measure 71mm in width, 8.15mm in thickness, and weigh 190 grams.
As per reports, this time around the company has no plans to launch a Pro version. Also, there is no clarity on whether the Meizu 22 will be released in markets outside of China. At present, there is no information about the price of the device.
