The Acer Liquid S1 is a mid-range Android smartphone released by Acer back in June last year. The Acer Liquid S1 comes with a 5 inches display powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. Running in the background is none other than the Android 4.2 OS with Acer’s own Float UI. However if you doesn’t like the current home screen it has, you can always install custom ROMs on the device as well. But before you can do so, you must first root Acer Liquid S1. In the following tutorial, I will be guiding you on how to root Acer Liquid S1 using the Framaroot app.

Prerequisites before you begin rooting Gigabyte Acer Liquid S1

1. Download the Framaroot apk to your PC.
2. Make sure you have installed the necessary device driver on your PC before proceeding. If you have not do so, you can download it here.
3. Make sure you have fully charged your device.
4. Go to Settings > Security > Make sure you have checked on the Unknown Sources checkbox.
5. Back up the Acer Liquid S1.

Follow the steps below on how to root Acer Liquid S1

1. Connect the Acer Liquid S1 to your PC.
2. Copy the Framaroot apk from your PC to your device’s SD card.
3. Open the file explorer app ( if you don’t have one on your device, then you may want to download either Astro File Manager / ES File Explorer ) and install the Framaroot apk by tapping on its icon.
4. Open the Framaroot app from your app drawer.
5. From the Framaroot app, select the Install Superuser option under the Select an action to execute after root section as shown above.
6. Next up, select either Boromir or Faramir exploit to root Acer Liquid S1.
7. Once your device has been rooted, you should see a similar pop-up as the one above on your screen.
8. Reboot your device.
9. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted Acer Liquid S1!
