The ASUS ROG Phone 5 that has the model number ASUS_I005DA received certification from the 3C authority of China earlier this month. Today, the phone appeared in the database of China’s TENAA telecom regulatory body. The listing has revealed its key specifications and images.
ASUS ROG Phone 5 Specifications
The TENAA listing shows that the ASUS ROG Phone 5 measures 172.834 x 77.252 x 10.29mm. The device houses a massive display of 6.78 inches. It seems to be fitted with an AMOLED panel with in-screen fingerprint scanner.
The listing did not mention whether the screen supports FHD+ or QHD+ resolution. It is likely that the phone will carry support for a refresh rate of 144Hz or higher. The front image of the phone suggests that it will continue to sport thick-sized upper and lower bezels like the predecessor models.
The Snapdragon 888 SoC powered ROG Phone 5 will come preloaded with Android 11 OS. The device will draw power through a pair of 3,000mAh batteries, which will offer a total capacity of 6,000mAh. The 3C listing of the device had revealed that its retail package may include a 65W fast charger.
The curved back panel of the phone has a horizontal triple camera module with a 64-megapixel primary lens. The RGB-lit logo seems to be present at the center of the phone’s back. However, a secondary display that was seen on a recently leaked video does not seem to be present on the device. Lastly, it has a red-colored button placed towards the bottom of the left spine.
It is yet to be confirmed whether the upcoming gaming smartphone from ASUS will be called ROG Phone 5 or ROG Phone 4. Some of the Asian companies are known for skipping the number ‘4’ in the names of their devices as it is considered a bad omen. Hence, it is likely that ASUS may launch its next gaming phone with ROG Phone 5 moniker.
