Galaxy Z Fold 3 Could be Samsung’s First Phone with Under-Display Camera

In October, a South Korean publication revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could be the first phone from Samsung to arrive with in-display camera. A fresh report that has surfaced today has reiterated that the same news, which indicates the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will offer a high screen space than its predecessor models.

The original Galaxy Fold from last year came with notch on its inner display. The notch was replaced by a punch-hole on the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which allowed it to deliver a better screen space. If the Galaxy Z Fold 3 arrives with an in-screen camera, it is likely to offer higher screen-to-body ratio.

The display necessary for the under-screen camera technology is being developed by the Samsung Display. And the image sensor will be developed by Samsung Electronics System LSI.

Some reports have revealed that the company will be axing the Galaxy Note series in the coming year. Speculations have it that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will arrive with S Pen stylus support. A recent report had revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could be equipped with a thicker UTG of up to 60mm, which allow the foldable device to support the usage of a stylus. However, it is unclear whether it will have a dedicated compartment for the S Pen.
