How to root Acer Liquid Z5 tutorial

How to root Acer Liquid Z5 The Acer Liquid Z5 is a mid-range Android smartphone announced by Acer back in January earlier this year. The Acer Liquid Z5 comes with a 5 inches display powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor and 512MB RAM. Besides the Acer Liquid Z5, the Taiwanese company has also announced several other budget smartphones including the Liquid Z4 and Liquid E3. Like most other Android smartphones, the Acer Liquid Z5 can be rooted easily as well. In the following tutorial, I will be guiding you on how to root Acer Liquid Z5 using Framaroot.

Disclaimer : During the process of rooting, there is always a risk for you to brick your Android device. So if you choose to root your device, you are doing it at your own risk!

Prerequisites before you begin rooting Acer Liquid Z5

  1. Download the Framaroot apk to your PC.
  2. Make sure you have installed the device driver on your PC. If you have yet to do so, you can head down to Acer download page and have it downloaded and installed on your PC.
  3. Make sure you have fully charged your device.
  4. Go to Settings > Security > Make sure you have checked on the Unknown Sources checkbox.
  5. Back up the Acer Liquid Z5.

 

Follow the steps below on how to root Acer Liquid Z5

  1. Connect the Acer Liquid Z5 to your PC.
  2. Copy and paste the Framaroot apk (which you have downloaded earlier) from your PC over to the root of your device’s SD card.
  3. Open the file explorer app ( if you don’t have one on your device, then you may want to download either Astro File Manager / ES File Explorer ) and install the Framaroot apk by tapping on its icon.
  4. After you have installed it, open the app on your device.
  5. select install Superuser in Framaroot to root Acer Liquid Z5From the app, select the Install Superuser option under the Select an action to execute after root section as shown above.
  6. In the next section, you will select the Boromir exploit ( You can try Faramir or Barahir exploit if Boromir doesn’t work ) under the Select an exploit section.
  7. success pop up in FramarootOnce done, a pop-up like the one above should appear on your device. If it doesn’t appear, do comment below the post so that we’re able to help you.
  8. Reboot your device.
  9. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted Acer Liquid Z5!

I found a way , download the drivers for your phone then use a program called “Kingo android root” and follow the steps. my z5 is now rooted.

Where did you guys find the driver for the Liquid Z5 ? Can’t find them on Acer website.

There doesn’t seem to be any driver for Liquid Z5 on the Acer support site…

Well, this tutorial doesn’t work. The Z5 driver is nowhere to be found on Acer website, and the Framaroot app gives an error #9…
