How to root Colorfly G808 using the Framaroot app

How to root Colorfly G808The Colorfly G808 is a mid-range Android tablet released by Chinese manufacturer Colorfly back in July last year. The Colorfly G808 rocks a decent 8″ display powered by a 8-cores 1.4GHz chipset along with 1GB of RAM. Other key specs include a 8GB internal storage, microSD slot, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 4,000mAh battery as well as Android 4.4 KitKat running out of the box.

Like most other Android tablets, we can root Colorfly G808 rather easily as well. In the following tutorial, I will be guiding you guys on how to root Colorfly G808 using the Framaroot app.

Disclaimer : During the process of rooting, there is always a risk for you to brick your Android device. So if you choose to root your device, you are doing it at your own risk!

Prerequisites before you begin rooting Colorfly G808

  1. Download the Framaroot apk to your PC.
  2. Make sure you have downloaded and installed the required driver on your PC.
  3. Make sure there is at least 80% battery left on your smartphone before begin rooting your device.
  4. Go to Settings > Security > Make sure you have checked on the Unknown Sources checkbox.
  5. Back up the Colorfly G808.

Follow the steps below on how to root Colorfly G808

  1. Connect the Colorfly G808 to your PC using an appropriate USB cable.
  2. Copy and paste the Framaroot apk from your PC over to the root of your device’s SD card.
  3. Open the file explorer app ( if you don’t have one on your device, then you may want to download either Astro File Manager / ES File Explorer ) and install the Framaroot apk by tapping on its icon.
  4. Open the Framaroot app on your Colorfly G808 smartphone.
  5. select install Superuser in Framaroot to root How to root Colorfly G808From the Framaroot app, select Install Superuser under the Select an action to execute after root section.
  6. From the Select an exploit section, select the Barahir exploit. ( You can try Faramir or Boromir exploit if Boromir doesn’t work ).

  8. Reboot your device.
  9. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted Colorfly G808!
